How can you be in other places if you are always in my heart?

Few years ago, I had my devotion about prayer which can be granted. The article put Matthew 7:7 as the main verse. It says:

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you”

When I read this verse at the first time, I thought like this,“how easy all of this. We just ask and will be given; just seek, and will find; just knock and it will be opened..Woo..i want to experience that but that’s not as simple as it is rite? That’s too easy!” That’s my first idea when i read this verse. I asked in my mind,”What’s the correlation between this verse and prayer which can be granted?”

God verses in the bible cant be read just in a glace or just like read novel, comic etc. God verses have lots of meaning and it speaks in many ways. Even we have read the verse over and over, it can speak again in the different way every time we read it. It’s beyond our common sense.

But, we cannot experience God’s words if we are not preparing our heart properly. I usually pray before I read it. I ask God to give me wisdom so I can understand His words with His perspective not mine. I did it when I read Matthew 7:7 and the verse spoke to me! Now I know what the verse means by ask, seek and knock. I found that they are three actions which become into one process and they must be done in sequent. First, ask. Second, seek. Then third, knock.

1. Ask, and it will be given to you

• The first step is “Ask”. The word of ask speaks about will, need, hope or whatever we wish in our life. Without them, we will not ask (or need) for something. We must aware that we need something from God. Something that we cannot do by our own strength.

2. Seek, and you will find

• “Seek” means there must be an action to do. After we tell God what we need, we must do something to act. Maybe what we need are beyond our strength but we can do the best we can. We do our part. This is the second step.

3. Knock, and it will be opened to you

• This is the final step and the most important one, “Knock”. After telling our need (or wish), doing the best we can, now we surrender both to God. How? We go to His presence then knock the door so we can enter and stay in His presence. When we knock the door, we must want to enter inside rite? We need to close to God so we have strength before we get what we've prayed. Thank God because He never rejects us. God always open His door whenever we want to enter because He loves us.

So, if we think God don’t grant our prayer or He don’t give what we need, please re-check what we have done. Have we done the three of them or not?

oh my oh my...

The official posters have released and they are so awesome!! Make me want to watch it soon. There are lots of movie fan doubt this film coz it is directed by M.Night Shyamalan. M Night is brilliat but his latest two movies (Lady In The Water & The Happening) failed. I'm a fan of M. Night Shyamalan movies since The Sixth Sense and i have a strong feeling that The Last Airbender will be his great comeback!Avatar: The Legend Of Aang is a fenomenal TV show and it has the prospect to become a movie franchise like Harry Potter. It depends to M.Night Shyamalan who directs this first film. If this film success, there will be a sequel, triquel, and so on. I pray so this movie will be successful so there will be more to come =) Cant wait for July 2nd 2010!

Math is definitely not my fave subject on school. Yeah, i'm not good in calculation but i want to learn it =) Yesterday, i found this cool site about the new way to enjoy math! At first, i thought that by hiding my good deeds i will be a humble man. That makes me become a "backstage person". I don't like publicity. I arranged many role plays since high school until now on my ministry at church. I also got the opportunity to make an indie films or video clips in my ministry too. When it's done, many people came to me then give me their compliments. They shook my hand and i could see sincerity from their eyes. But somehow, i feel awkward. I prefered to disappear in somewhere at that moment. I feel honored and unspoken satisfaction just by seeing their expression when they watched my role play or movie. It's enough. I used to think that i've guarded my heart from vanity by doing that. Coz i think i do what i do for God, not for human. All the glory is only for God.

Then i realize that there's something wrong with me...

That's not the real humility. God says, "Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven". I realize that i dont want people to see or consider my good deeds because i'm not comfortable with that. It's selfish coz all i think is only myself. I forget that people can see and glorify God through my action and for these times, i've hidden it intentionally.

Forgive me God...i was selfish. I thought i have humility but in fact, it is a concealed vanity. Now i know the truth and i want to do what You are saying. I will always be a "backstage person" but with the different perspective. Yeah..it's Your perspective, not mine...Amin.

"Alvin"

Okay, im in =) Like my blogging friends did, i tried my luck to interpret my name using blogthings.com service. As you know, i have names (Johan Alvin Khosuma and the initial is jak). Coz Khosuma is my family name, i just tried both "Johan" and "Alvin" and from the result i think Alvin is the closest one (How can this site do this? lol). The closest means not all is true coz there are several descriptions that not match. I tried to analyze the results and here it is...Alvin!!

Hi! This is my latest design project =) The process was quite long for me because there was a misunderstanding at the beginning but finally it's done!! After revisions, this is the final result that my client wants. I took the color tone for them from it's original logo's color and i like the tones! Anyway, Kura Kura is a cake shop. It's an Indonesian word of "turtle" =)

Finally i post this. I planned to post this in the end of 2009 but i couldn't make it. Okay, this "top10" list is not the version of any media but mine. Means: This is the rank of #10 until #1 movies that i desperately want to watch in theater on 2010; not in VCD, not in DVD even not in Blu-ray! but it must be in theater!!! #10 Robin HoodDirected by: Ridley Scott
Starring: Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett, Mark Strong
Why: This is a remake of Kevin Costner's Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves (1991) and im not a big fan of that movie (or the story itself). But, when i knew the director is Ridley Scott (Gladiator, Kingdom Of Heaven, Matchstick Men, etc) and the main actor is Russel Crowe (One of my fave actor), i changed my mind. How Ridley Scott directing a movie is always amazing. He is one of my fave movie director ever and i dont want to miss his movie.

Why: Adapted from popular video games, Prince Of Persia will promise lot of adventure, action and (if u have watched the trailer) AWESOME SPECIAL EFFECTS! The director himself is the one who brought you Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire so i guess this movie will be fantastic! If you are the fans of adventure movie (who don't?), you have to watch this.

Starring: Logan Lerman, Brandon T Jackson, Alexandra Daddario, Pierce Brosnan, Uma Thurman
Why: I've posted about Percy Jackson in my previous post and like i wrote there, i always like Greek mythology and this movie will deliver it! Adapted from best selling fantasy novel, Percy Jackson can be the next Harry Potter. That's why the director of this movie is the director of Harry Potter 1&2!! Hmm...see the connection? Please do your magic touch again, Chris Columbus!

#7 Knight And DayDirected by: James Mangold
Starring: Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz
Why: If you know me, you must have known that im a big fan of this great actor!! Yes, it's Tom Cruise!! I watch almost all of his movie and i love them (almost) all!! For me, he is a great actor and i always wait for his movies. Last year, i was amazed by "Valkyrie" and this year, paired with Cameron Diaz, he will deliver an action comedy movie, "Knight And Day". Here is one of the movie funny dialog:
"Everybody get down! No one follows us or i kill myself then her.." (lol)

#6 Clash of the TitansDirected by: Louis Leterrier
Starring: Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes
Why: I've missed epic movie lately. After Troy, Kingdom of Heaven or 300, i just can't wait to see Clash of the Titans. Story of Greek mythology about Perseus, son of Zeus (half men half God) who fight to defend human from evil gods and monsters. This is an intense action movie with great special effect, setting and of course, epic battle!!

#5 Alice in the WonderlandDirected by: Tim Burton
Starring: Mia Wasikowska, Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway
Why: If Tim Burton directs a movie, it will be a masterpiece. He is a genius director! and i admire his talent and his taste of art. In my opinion, "Alice in the Wonderland" will not offer an ordinary adventure movie but an art movie. Look at its promo posters and trailer, they are pieces of arts! Can't wait to indulge my eyes with this art.

#4 Iron Man 2Directed by: Jon Favreau
Starring: Robert Downey Jr., Terrence Howard, Gwyneth Paltrow, Scarlett Johansson, Mickey Rourke
Why: Ya..ya...ya....i know all of you have been waiting for this sequel coz me tooooooo (lol). Still with the same director, Iron Man 2 is predicted to be a protagonist in 2010 Box Office. The success of its first movie surely will attract more people to come to theater. Iron Man 2 is supported by all star actors and artists (Scarlett Johansson and Mickey Rourke in). Hopefully (please) this sequel will not follow the sequel of Transformers last year. Coz this time, the audiences are not only satisfied with bombastic special effect but also good story plot.

#2 Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1Directed by: David Yates
Starring: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman
Why: It comes to end. And it splits into two movies! What a gr8 marketing strategy but somehow, im thankful for that coz this final movie should (must) be perfect! So the decision to split the movie into two parts is a wise decision so the script writers can put the story as much as they can from the book into the movie. November is too long for me =( but i will learn from my experience last year when i was so (over) enthusiastic waiting the HP 6 then ended with dissapointing. Finally, i won't put this movie as #1 must see movie this year (for my own good).

Why: This is the champ!!!! From animation comes to live!!! Avatar (not James Cameron's) :The Legend Of Aang has been one of my fave TV show coz it's indeed a gr8 TV animation series. And like Hollywood usually do (transform a hit stuff into a movie), i thank God coz they choose the perfect director to handle this "future big franchise" movie. It's M. Night Shyamalan! my number one favourite director (He made Sixth Sense, The Signs, etc). His latest movies (Lady In The Water and The Happening) had failed but i hope this movie will be his gr8 comeback coz he deserves it. If you have ever watched the animation (and if u know me well), you will know why i put this movie in the first rank.
