peacemaker

What does a peacemaker look like?
  • Not self-absorbed and insistent on one's own way;
  • Generous and happy to share;
  • Doesn't hold grudges;
  • Not envious of others' success and blessings;
  • Doesn't criticize harshly;
  • More focused on solutions than problems;
  • Self-confident—doesn't get feelings hurt easily;
  • Sees the big picture of life, not petty quarrels.
When others see you—and when you look in the mirror—do you see a peacemaker?

Lord, help me to bring peace into all my relationships and all areas of my own life. Amen.

Be Happy, Bless The Lord

design illustration by: Ros Steele

"May God bless you" or "Oh Lord, bless me"

We often hear that kind of statement but do you know that we can bless our God? I just knew it when i had my Sunday Service in Church yesterday. I can't share you the whole preacher (coz i can't remember all :P) but i can share some of what i got and this is the one that most amazed me. It is that me and you can bless God. By express our happiness and joy in life, we have blessed God. It shows that God is "IN US" and it blesses HIM. In the time of struggling like what i have now, sometimes i feel strange if i'm still in joy but in the meantime the problems are still there. But, now i have a reason to be happy even i'm still struggling the problems. That's because i can bless my lovely GOD. Be Happy, Bless The LORD :D

King's Tale

There's a popular legend told in the Middle East of a wise and good king who loved his people. He deeply wanted to know how they lived, to know about their hardships. So he often dressed as a working man or a beggar and visited the homes of the poor. None of them suspected that he was their ruler. On one occasion, he visited a very poor man who lived in a cellar. He ate the poor-quality food the man ate and spoke kind, comforting words to him. Later he visited the poor man again. This time, he decided to reveal his true identity and told him, "I am your king." He thought the man would surely ask for a gift or favor. But instead, the man said, "You left your palace to visit me. You ate my food and sat with me in this dreary place. You were kind to me. To others you have given your rich gifts. But to me you have given yourself!"

Faith Like Potatoes

"A triumph movie about a journey of faith"

A movie which based on the true story is not always my fave. But it's different if it is based on INSPIRING true story. Faith Like Potatoes is really inspiring my faith. Movie about a life transformation from a men that changes his family then his community. I really don't wanna tell you what the story about coz you should experience it by yourself. The story is so down to earth, friendly and not cliche at all. It is based from a true event and it is an AMAZING experience! The movie about a journey of faith that will rise everyone's faith (If they watch it).

After seeing the movie i'm so excited coz Christian's movies are getting better and better. The cinematography and the acting don't show that this is the indie movie with low budget but they made it professionally and we should proud for them. Above all, praise God who made this movie possible to be blessed for everyone who see this. Bravo!

Collection

Since childhood, i get used to collect things. Dragon Ball cards, stamps, coins, and right now, comics. Like the word"collect", it means that we gather things we collect one by one. The sensation when we can add new collection is always excited.

In the journey of faith, there are "things" we can collect also. Right now, i face the impossible situation but i will never give up coz i'm walking with faith. I keep praying while waiting God's best time for my situation. But, when i'm in the process until God answer my prayers, I have to walk in my journey of faith.

I really need God's grace when i'm in a journey of faith. There are many situations that can weaken my faith or tempt me to do wrongs (even sins). How to face those are how we response. When the situation force you to doubt your faith or tempt you to commit sins, you always have a choice to make a response towards it.

What kind of response? The good one i hope.

Last week, i had so many revelations from my daily devotion (too bad i couldn't post them here). One of the point is when we receive Jesus as our God and believe in Him, Jesus will stay inside our heart and because of that we can do all things with Him. Because with Him, all things mean good things.

It is hard to make a good response all the time and we can fail at any time. But God wants us to practice it over and over. He never accused us when we fail coz He loves us. He knows we needs help and practice in this journey of faith.

Right now, with all my success and failure in my journey of faith, i just want to collect the good responses, one by one, day by day...until i see the answer of my prayer.

"THEREFORE, SINCE we are justified through faith, let us have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."

thought of the day

From 3:16, The Numbers of Hope - Max Lucado

The latest two days was quite hard to me. I committed sins and the feeling was worse. I knew that's wrong but that time i just couldn't help it. I was frustrated and felt improper in front of God. I knew in that kind of situation, i can run to God, ask for forgiveness and God will definitely forgive me. I prayed to God, told all my weaknesses but then i was still fighting to win it. I felt so improper and disgraceful to God. I kept praying and ask for help to God coz i couldn't help it. God always hears our prayer and He gave me strength to overcome it. Today, i decided to be a winner and look what i found in my email this morning? An article from Max Lucado and the quote (above) spoke to the deepest of my heart. I'm fully restored coz i decided to receive God's love. Thank you for transform me from a loser to a Winner, Jesus =)

Flawed

There are many things those who share the Gospel do well to remember. Certainly it is good for us to recall that the message we share is the Good News of God’s love and forgiveness. But, as we carry the Gospel to others it is also good if we remember it is mediated through we who are so flawed and fallen. Have you ever noticed how everyone in the Bible could have introduced himself, or herself, in some kind of recovery group? Imagine it:

"Hi. My name is Abraham. I am a coward and a liar. I would tell a lie to put my wife's life at risk in order to save my own skin."

"Hi. We are Isaac and Rebecca and we're dysfunctional parents."

"Hi. My name is Jacob and I'm a cheater and a scoundrel."

"Hi. My name is Aaron. I'm a religious leader; but I cave in to peer pressure."

"Hi. My name is Miriam. I'm jealous of my little brother Moses and I'm a racist; I'm upset about his inter-racial marriage."

"Hi. My name is Moses and I'm a hot-head and a murderer."

"Hi. My name is Naomi and I am bitter."

"Hi. My name is Samson and I struggle with lust."

"Hi. My name is David. I am an adulterer and a murderer."

"Hi. My name is Elijah and I struggle with depression."

"Hi. My name is Thomas. I struggle with doubts."

"Hi. My name is Mary Magdalene and I'm a prostitute."

"Hi. My name is Peter and I let down my best friend when he needed me most."

"Hi. My name is Timothy. I struggle with paralyzing fears and insecurities."

"Hi. My name is Paul. I am a Christian killer and I am very difficult to work with."

As I read about these "heroes of the faith" I see that each one was flawed and yet each did significant Kingdom work. I do not believe that they were rewarded for the flaws; nor do I believe their flaws were unrelated to the good that occurred in their lives. The flaws became grace places; places of humility, which I believe is a synonym for honesty. They came to acknowledge in progressively deeper ways their need of God's love and mercy. For, to each, in his or her specific need, God came because He loved them; as He loves us. He loves us! He loves us with a love that is not conditioned by our performance....

Heart-Sport (Sport Jantung)

Yeah, that's what i felt this early morning when watched Barcelona vs Inter Milan. The game was so thrilling for both sides especially for Inter fan (I'm not an Inter Fan but i support them as Italian Football fan) Inter Milan had to play with 10 men because one of them was red-carded by the referee. That's why, the match was so thrilling coz Barcelona had never stop to attack Inter Milan until very last minutes. The last 1o minutes was the worse coz Barcelona finally scored and they only need one more goal to bury Inter Milan's dream. I pray to God so hard (over and over) so that Inter will go to the final..."Please...please God...give them (Inter players) strength and give the coach a wisdom to win this stage." Then the final whistle was there and Barcelona couldn't add one more goal. Inter Milan go to the final. An Italian club to the final of European Champion's League!!!! Yeyy!!! So excitedddd and happyyyy!!! Hehehee...Hope they can beat Bayen Munchen in final stage (Amen!)
the sweetest thing
After watched Inter's winning, i didn't sleep and i had plenty of time for my devotion. This week, i'm learning from Nehemia's life and i'm blessed. When i prayed, Holy Spirit spoke to me, "if God hear your prayer for Inter Milan's winning (small thing), how can He don't hear your prayers for the greater thing? He is listening your prayers everyday." Then, it was confirmed by the article i read. It's John Mason's quote,"When God is planning to do the sweetest thing, He starts it with impossibility." I smiled and relieved =) Right now, i face the impossibility but i know Jesus is with me and He will transform that impossible thing into the most sweetest things in my life, Amiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnn =)

joy, pray and thanks

"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18

Sometimes our prayers are answered quickly, obviously. Other times we wait, and God answers our prayers in a much different way than we expected, sometimes much later than expected.

And other times, what we thought was the worst thing that could happen turned out to be a blessing.

We arrive at life’s greatest blessings by choosing to trust God in faith.

House Of Health

Recently, i designed a logo of my church's new social-oriented's service called "Rumah Sehat". It is the Indonesian language for "House Of Health".

ABOUT HOUSE OF HEALTH
The main purpose of "House Of Health" is to give free medical treatment for people who can't afford to do that. Because it's only the beginning and we only have one doctor (Dr. Daniel Christian), "House Of Health" is still operating in a small scale. Anyone can get this service as long as they register and it's for free at all. Beside medical treatment, there's also a team who will pray for them so the patients can receive God's grace also. I can say that this service is a "Body and Soul" treatment. With God's grace, we hope that through "House Of Health" all the patients can be cured not only their body but also their soul.

THE LOGO

The logo itself have meanings. I designed the logo as simple as it can so people can easily remember it. The shape is the shape of a house which have cross sign in the middle of it. The cross can be defined by cross (salvation) or medical icon. The green color are often used as a representative of health (in many hospitals) and it is placed in the left side. It means that a patient who enter in the "House Of Health" will get body restoration then after they get through the "cross" they will get soul restoration which is representated by blue color (the sky/heaven color = God's grace). The grey color means neutral. Everyone can come to "House Of Health" if they want.
So that's all the real meaning of the logo. I completely know that the explanation is far from perfect. But after you know the brief profile of "House Of Health", what do you think about the logo? Is it effective or not?

ps: Let's pray so "House Of Health" service can develop well and bless as many people as it can so they will receive God's grace, Amin :)

give...

Once upon a time, there was a pig bewail it's fate to a cow because the pig feels unpopular if being compared with a cow. "Why are people always talking about your sociability and your kind eyes? in other way, they always mocking me. This is not fair!! Yaaaahh, i realize, you give them milk and cream but i give them more than you!!Look, i give them bacon and ham even they make soup from my foot but they still don't like me, whyyyyy???

The cow thought a moment then answered,"maybe because i give while i'm still alive."

GENTLE

Gracious and Good
Engaging, willing to listen
Nice to others, regardless of who they are
Taking the time to move at another's pace
Loving
Endearing by acts of kindness and good-will

But let it be the inward adorning and beauty of the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible and unfading charm of a gentle and peaceful spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.

jakuote #13

"But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him" - Hebrew 11:6

I got this verse this morning and i directly memorize it so i will never forget this verse. I have a situation. A huge one. My main struggle in my life - so sorry cannot tell in detail here but i PROMISE i will share it to you when the time has come, you have my words =)

So in this situation, i'm more than convince that i do the RIGHT thing and this is one of God's purpose in my life. There are many confirmations and revelations from God to support my line above. But right now, im facing something which block the way. At first i felt so sad and depressed by it. But, a friend gave me Psalms 16:7 - "When a man's ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him." It had strengthen me and by close to God, i can feel peace even the situation is still blocking the way.

Then this morning i got the verse from Hebrew 11:6. It's all about faith. How to please God is only with faith. And when my life is pleasing God, He will make a peace with my enemy (the situation that block the way). Sometimes, doubt can haunt me to weaken my faith but this morning i have a resolution to always remember my picture of faith. Yeah, i have pictured my faith, as clear as blu-ray resolution :D

This experience has produced this jakuote #13 =) In my situation right know, my faith is my BEST asset and i'm thankful because of it...Thanks for these revelations God...

To realize the value of one year, ask to a student who fail to pass the test

To realize the value of one month, ask to a mother who have just bear a premature baby

To realize the value of one week, ask to an editor of weekly newspaper

To realize the value of one day, ask to a labour who have ten children to be feed

To realize the value of one hour, ask to a lover who have plan to meet

To realize the value of one minute, ask to a person who have just missed the flight

To realize the value of one second, ask to a person who have just survived from a car accident

To realize the value of one millisecond, ask to a gold medal winner

what is ur reflection?

I want to be a mirror, Lord . . . A reflection of Your grace
To shine Your light for all to see
In every darkened place

I want to be transfigured Lord, so the image others see
Will be closer to Your likeness
And the light You've given me

I have no light source of my own . . . but when I look at You
The radiance of Your glory
Shines in all I say and do

I could stand to use some polish . . . I've been cracked and broken too
But it's not myself that matters
It's the light that comes from You

Though I have some imperfections, I'm still useful in Your sight
And in Your hand I know
That You will angle me just right

So that when Your face shines on me, it reflects on others too
And as it does, please use me, Lord
To LIGHT my world for You
